Are We Sustainable Enough?

According to the UN definition of sustainability, "Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." the question is, are we sustainable enough? is the way of our life can be enough for our future living? or do we still need to improve so we can be sustainable?
In my opinion, we can still be in our lifestyle as long as it can help us to improve, gives us progress and can maintain the development of our life, but still the quality of life in the future can  be different from the way of life today especially this generation, technology already have the huge part of our community. Our lifestyle today can be helpful to us, having the attitude of hospitality, Filipinos gives their appreciation and becoming friendly in other people or in other community. Our rules and regulations in our community maintains the organization of the people inside the community and keeping the peaceful living by following those rules.
Our lifestyle today is still effective for us to live a good life, like in my hometown, here in Brgy.Canlubang we have our policies that helps us to maintain our peaceful living and to have the progress for our community. Our barangay implemented the curfew policy so everyone in our barangay will be safe from bad accidents caused by other people. We have our barangay tanods who guards our community and helps us if there is accident. Our barangay can meet the needs of our community like having the budget to build our own community clinics and community courts, they also do fumigation to avoid us having dengue.
Having sustainable way in our community can still be effective in the future. having these policies and practices can still maintain our progress as a developing barangay. We may need to improve, as our generation changes but I think my community can still do our lifestyle because we have done it in many years and we are still growing.

Status of Livelihood

Livelihood is very important in every family. They work hard doing their job in farming, fishing, and other livelihood. A lot of families, especially those who are less privileged depend to their sources of livelihood because it is the only way they can have money to buy their necessities. But not all places in our country has enough source of livelihood for the Filipino families so they sometimes experience lack of food and lack of income, because of this they tend to do crimes even they do not want it but they have no choice.
Livelihood sometimes are not sustainable because of some problems occurring to it especially when calamities come. Having typhoon in our country causes the distraction of livelihood in the Philippines so many families are affected for this lost because it is the only job they do to earn living.
